ENCOMPASS™
What is
ENCOMPASS™?
The ENCOMPASS™ program is a collaboration with the Science and Management of Addiction Foundation (SAMA). ENCOMPASS™ is an evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy specifically designed to treat youth suffering from co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders. The program is the culmination of 15 years of research by psychiatrist Dr. Paula Riggs of the University Of Colorado Denver School Of Medicine.
What happens
in
ENCOMPASS™?
Participants first receive a comprehensive clinical and diagnostic evaluation which will become the foundation for developing individually tailored treatment plans. Participants then receive 16 weeks of cognitive behavioral therapy provided by licensed clinicians. Experienced board certified psychiatrists or psychiatric nurse practitioners provide medication evaluation and monitoring when clinically indicated. In addition, motivational enhancement techniques and incentives are used to help participants achieve abstinence and other treatment goals. Family involvement and engagement in community-based activities are also components of ENCOMPASS™.
After
ENCOMPASS™?
The THS ENCOMPASS™ clinical team, with the SAMA Foundation, provide assessment, treatment recommendations and referral for mental health and substance treatment and other support services that may be needed after the 16 weeks.
Who is
Eligible?
Adolescents and young adults, ages 13-25 year old, with
